- Re: help!! : Well, that depends on who you believe Shakespeare to be. It you would like to know how the man from Stratford, known as Guillimus Shakespere, died, then he died in 1616, one month after writing his will. He was 49 years old. We can assume from this that he was gravely ill and his death was expected. There was no fanfare. 04:38:34 2/06/102
